Publications from Western military, describing their aim with providing "an overview of research done inside the Belgian Armed Forces in the period 2015 - 2016 to address their specific needs, whether in the short term, mid term or long term" and "The selected topics give insights into the multifaceted military research" really astonishes me.

Continuing with: "We are confident that, while reading or scrolling through this report, your interest in Belgian research will thrive." Haha...Yes of course! I know a few people who will be interested. You can find them e.g. here.

I try not to be naive but anyway: Why should foreign forces (again) get a nice overview about sensitive topics as these:

Ok, I am naive: They already know this.

Turkish intelligence agencies in troubled times

The Turkish intelligence agencies have various interesting cover organisations and offices in Europe from which they operate. I read in Intelligence Online that France has apparently now definitely refused a visa to a Chinese researcher. He wanted to take part in a seminar on Tibet that was being held in Paris. Reason: This researcher works at the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR). Intelligence Online summarises the reasons for this very comprehensibly: „The CICIR is one of Beijing's oldest and most influential institutes for international research studies, which reports directly to the Ministry of State Security (MSS or Guoanbu)and is supervised by the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).“ In a Wikipedia entry it is formulated even more viciously and clearly: "The China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations […] is the cover identity of the 11th Bureau of the Chinese Ministry of State Security (MSS). Stalin 1941 - 1946" von William Averell Harriman und bezieht sich auf die Konferenz 1945 in Jalta. Auch heute ist dieses Buch lesenswert, denn es zeigt, wie gravierend das Zögern und Zaudern auf der einen Seite sich auswirken kann - zum Vorteil der anderen Seite, damals Stalin.
